Founder & Licensed Counselor

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Welcome! I’m Amelia, the founder of Telesana. I am a neurodivergent counselor based in Cleveland, OH. I believe that the most important part of therapy is creating a safe space for my clients to feel comfortable sharing about their experiences. Without this therapeutic relationship and level of trust, we cannot begin to heal from our experiences. I am dedicated to making sure all clients have access to a safe therapy experience that respects and honors who they are in the healing process.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio (E. 2001951) and Kentucky (273236), Nationally Certified Counselor (835010), and Board Certified – TeleMental Health Provider (2457). I earned my BA in Psychology at Ohio University in 2013, and my MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University in 2016.

I work with individuals who have experienced challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, Autism/ASD, ADHD, LGBTQIA+ related issues, gender and sexual/affectional minorities, all relationship structures, and interpersonal related issues. Working with autistic adults is my passion, including those who suspect they may be autistic. As someone who is autistic and was diagnosed in my late 20’s, I understand these challenges on a deeper level. For this reason, I am committed to creating spaces to support and empower other autistic folks.

I enjoy using creative interventions to support you in meeting goals we will develop together as a team. I believe that following only one model or approach can limit our work, so you will notice that we will integrate many approaches into our work together based on what best fits your needs. Some of the approaches may include trauma-informed care, mind-body practices, existential therapy, affirmative therapy, intersectionality theory, and neurodiversity-based practices.

Outside of the therapy world, I enjoy spending time working in my garden, learning about native trees and wildlife, reading non-fiction, and going on adventures with my dogs (black labs) and my partner.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to learn more about if we would be a good fit together! 🙂
